The Repair PDF tool attempts to fix corrupted or damaged PDF files by loading them and completely rebuilding their internal structure. This process can resolve many common PDF issues including broken cross-reference tables, malformed object streams, and other structural errors.
How it works: The tool uses pdf-lib to parse your PDF as deeply as possible, then re-serializes it into a clean, well-formed PDF file. This approach fixes many corruption issues caused by incomplete downloads, storage errors, or software bugs.
Limitations: Some severely corrupted files may not be recoverable if critical data has been lost. If your PDF is encrypted and you do not have the password, certain repairs may not be possible.
Privacy: All processing happens locally in your browser. Your files are never uploaded to any server.
